Bull Ant

“The Bullant is perfect for waves shoulder high and under,  I have found that having this board in my quiver means that I surf more due to its performance in very poor conditions. The Bullant is ideally suited to a Quad fin setup and I have been using the Futures Middle Finger along with the S4 by Simon Anderson but the Futures Controller are perfect fit for the Vector Foil through the tail. The bottom has a full-vee with a double concave which starts from the centre, this enables an extremely fast acceleration! As soon as you get to your feet you can feel the Bullant Take Off! The beveled rail lessens the volume for increased sensitivity in rail to rail turns whilst providing greater buoyancy and maintaining a performance rail profile. The wide diamond tail provides multiple pivot points for fast direction changes off the back foot!”

BullAnt: Is she from our solar system?

Hi every body !

Just a few words to say how i still remain fascinated by the extreme hight level performances of this board.

I ‘m 48, surfing for 35 years and usually need a 30Liters performance shortboard. Actually, the Bull Ant 5.8 became my favourite in 90% of my sessions – Not only because of its buoyancy … There are tons of great parameters that make this board perform.

The Bull Ant 5.8 was initially bought for bullshit to medium conditions, here in Hendaye/Biarritz (Basque coast -France), and the it has not let me down: I take this board in any conditions from 1 to 5 feet waves ! With a good combination of quad set fins you can carve in really hollow beach break waves, and when conditions are mushy…it works as a flying carpet !

I would like to know the name of the shaper – Because according to me (i make custom shapes) several elements in this board are very very well done: The double ccv is so pronounced that we have a really popping machine under the back foot; The rounded Vee allows the board to go rail to rail without loosing speed, with control; I think there is a slight belly bottom plan shape under the nose (a little bit convex) and if i am not wrong, it allows the board to get and stay high over the water since the first seconds, even when if you have no speed. Also, it produces a very smooth ride in windy onshore waves !

Well for me, this board is a nightmare for the other guys : You catch everything, you go super fast and it remain versatile and sharp in spite of its hight volume…All these parameters usually don’t go together, but Agency Surfboards did it.

Please don’t change this shape, it is amazing.
